Let's hear the waves roar
As they come crashing in

You ran to the ocean with your head held high
Smiling and leading the way
Caught by surprise when the waves knocked you over
But you were out there the next day

You climbed up to join Mom and Dad

On the Railroad" and you were so glad

Of our new baby boy
Who was born yesterday

David's warm and secure
As he comes home today
You tugged at his carseat and grabbed his small hand
With excitement your face was aglow
You reached in the blanket and tickled his feet
And said "David has such tiny toes"
