Early in the morning
When the engines start to roar
You can see the old goat standing
Beside his office door
He'll be sweating out the takeoff
As he's often done before
The man behind the armor plated desk.

You can see him at the briefing
Speaking up from the rear,
"The runway's socked in solid
But the target may be clear.

And debriefing they should be

But not a pilot you will see
