CRANKY YANKEE Icelandic Vikings In Mall of America.... (28) RE: Icelandic Vikings In Mall of America.... 20 Aug 03

Referring to all the Norse People as, "Vikings" is like referring to all Sailors as "Pirates".

There is nothing romantic or colorful or sweet about Vikings and/or Pirates. I'm a sailor and I'm quite put out when people call me a pirate. Pirates and vikings were (and are) ruthless, sadistic, killers and rapists (both sexes)

The woreds Viking and Pirate are both participles. That is they can be used as either a verb or a noun.

You catch one, and give them the ultimate sentence, This is called a "Dangling Participle"
