Hey Crystal. Dundee is something of a folk-free zone, it was when I lived there and it remains so to this day, despite the large numbers of Irish students who go there. Try Mickey Coyle's on Hawkhill on a Monday night. Some of my old mates still play there and the crack's usually good. If you take an instrument in they'll give you a seat. a.w.
