It's a heron, Mary. Thank you folks, tho' I'm still wondering a bit about the sense of some of it. Nevertheless, it's a fine sounding song. Thanks for Karine's name Malcolm, I have a contact to her so I may just find out a bit more Being waders, I guess the poor old herons don't even get to eat herring :-)) Jack
