My impression, from the US where US football reigns surpreme, is that the rugby players are tougher. Your impression?? (This comes from the father of eight (five boys) who has coached 30 years). Also, for what it's worth some traditional US youth sports, like baaseball, football, and basketball, are giving way to soccer (which is the world's greatest invention). As an athletic director at a large school, I had five times the interest in soccer than in baseball, softball, or football. This really concerns the old folks who grew up on these sports.
