I have pleasant memories of several visits to the Top of Coom, thanks to the warm hospitality of Eonie and Rachel O'Suillibhan of Coolea, and have heard My Home in Sweet Glenlea in a pub in Ballymakeera (just down the road from Ballyvourney). The Coom is also mentioned in the song The ESB in Coolea. Both these songs are in The Songs of Cork. I'll post more info about that wonderful little book when I get home. A cursory search of the DT did not turn up ESB in Coolea. I'll see if I can enter the words and post them soon. I have heard that three pubs claim the "highest pub" distinction: the Top of Coom, one in the Wicklows and one in Donegal (I think). David
