It'll come as no surprise that our own Big Mick... accompanied by his energetic daughter... was spotted at the bus stop of the Immigrant Workers Freedom Ride, in Detroit, along with many other members of Mick's Union UFCW Local 951. Not unlike the original freedom riders, who rode busses to Washington to demand economic justice for African Americans, Immigrant workers, those who do the work of caring for our children, and our elderly, preparing our food, cleaning our buildings, maintaining our parks and public places, are traveling from all parts of the country to deliver a message in Washigton DC, that they too, need and demand economic justice. Although I've been an infrequent visitor here for the last couple years, oldtimers here will recall that Mick and I are both Union Activists...who weighed in on many of the issues discussed on this forum... music and politics. And even though we work in the same state, and don't live too far from each other (if 150 miles isn't far) we had only met in the Mudcat Forum, until yesterday... Slainte, Brother Mick... it was good too see you in action.
