Actually, Steve, 2-finger refers to one finger plus thumb. Reno, Scruggs and bluegrassers in general are 3-finger pickers. Two fingers plus thumb. Stroke or minstral style is a down picking style. 2-finger and 3-finger are up picking styles. Chip
