A great song and it was well performed on the night - good singing and a pleasure to hear a fingerpicked guitar after all those strummers! A well-deserved win. Very evocative lyrics for me, as both me grandad and me old dad were amongst those who worked for Rose Bros., building the packaging machines and then, during WW2, the Lancaster gun turrets. One thing I don't understand - how come '16 Miles To Every Acre' (Sooz's entry last year) didn't get into the first three in the previous competition? It was every bit as good as 'Woven Threads of Linen'. If any of the judges are out there, can you (dare you) enlighten me? Johnny
