I take it the town is Helston....I have family on the lizard and would recommend a visit to the falmouth maritime museum..while it may not be exactly folk music related the area is rich in marine history. Helston itself has a small museum which is worth a look at..at the top of coinagehall street in the town.

Again, perhaps not exactly cultural..but the sattelite earth station at goonhilly a few miles south east does an interesting guided tour of the sattelite signal receiving disheswhich are impressive structures.
