I've been searching for a song which appeared in the Steven Seagal movie 'Fire Down Below' (1997). The song was performed during the movie by musician/actor Levon Helm with his banjo. On the closing credits the song is listed as "Mr. Spider (Little Body Rinctum)". It's listed as traditional so the author is unknown. The song does not appear on the official movie soundtrack album. My grandmother used to sing a similar song that she called "Little Potta Rinctum". The lyrics were slightly different but it was essentially the same song. I've been unable to find anything about this song despite years of research. I'm interested in everything there is to know about this song - origin, history, lyrics to different versions, etc. The lyrics to my grandmother's version had some of same lyrics as the traditional song "Froggie Went A Courtin'". Here are the lyrics of her song as I remember them: Where shall the wedding supper be? Little Potta Rinctum Kinbo Way down yonder in the hollow tree, Little Potta Rinctum Kinbo Kingbo Nero Captain Kingbo, Little Potta Rinctum Kinbo Buminicle Suminicle Little Potta Rinctum, Rinctum Oh Mr. Kinbo What shall the wedding supper be? Little Potta Rinctum Kinbo Tadpole soup and a wiggle tail tea, Little Potta Rinctum Kinbo Kingbo Nero Captain Kingbo, Little Potta Rinctum Kinbo Buminicle Suminicle Little Potta Rinctum, Rinctum Oh Mr. Kinbo Can anyone help me with this? Thanks so much!
