Rick Fielding BS: Amazing FAKE documentary on Moon Landing (37) BS: Amazing FAKE documentary on Moon Landing 18 Nov 03

Just saw this the other night and wondered if anyone else caught it. It's a new documentary film perporting to show that The Yanks had to fake the moon landing film because the technology wasn't yet up to date in 1969 and they needed proof.

I came in the middle of it and for about twenty minutes I believed it was legit AND convincing. They had interviews with Rumsfeld Haig Eagleburger, etc. ALL discussing Nixon's OKing the plan to Blackmail Stanley Kubrick into doing it for them. (Shades of "Wag the Dog") After a bit I realized it was a spoof, but oh boy was this well done. Not funny and satirical like Spinal Tap, but sincere, and earnest and suposedly made by Europeans.

They couldn't resist one absolute joke at the end though......in a peace of (fake) grainy black and white footage, a truck drives fleetingly past a hi-way sign that announces "George W Bush Centre for Military Intelligence 15 miles"!

I was actually in Newfoundland singing when the actual moon landing took place, and about twenty of us sat in the lobby of the Welcome Hotel (I've already described the rope fire escape) and watched it on TV.

I was the ONLY ONE in the room who believed it was legit!

The Newfoundlanders chuckled at how easily a "Mainlander" could be taken in, ha ha.

Cheers

Rick
