A friend saw a car ding another in a store car park. Hewent into the store to report it, and asked if he could use the store's phone to tell the police (way before mobile phones). He was told, no, not their business. Two minutes later one of their managers came in to say that someone had dinged his car, and he wasn't happy. Sudden change of attitude, could they have the number of the offending vehicle. Sorry, said my friend, not my business.
