Get yourself some short cross pieces, a batch of beer bottle caps, some nails, etc. and make an Australian "lagerphone"! I'm sure Bob Bolton who is a mudcatter can e-mail you some plans. Makes a great rhythm stick, better than a bass, and you don't have to know the chord progression.
