Betsy Rutherford Coffey was an incredibly good singer (and powerful!) from the Galax tradition-- her uncle was Wade Ward. I am sorry to say that she died some 15 years ago. She is survived by her husband John Coffey, who still lives in Galax (I see him every time I go to Galax) and was written up in the Old Time Herald some time ago. I used to have that issue but it's not easily accessible-- sorry.
