Presumably if they are buried alive the chickens die of suffocation? How long does that take? If only three or four minutes it may be the most efficient and humane way of disposal. Should we even be projecting our own, perhaps rather distorted views, of death onto animals. After all death is a certainty for all of us. and chickens have a number of natural predators besides man. Given that death is a certainty for all of us, how is it we seem to have so lttle choice about how we each bow out? Consumer choice seems to me to be somewhat limited in this area. Buried alive, or neck wrung? Be interested to know what Catters personal preferences are. Think mine might involve a particular single malt and some very loud jigs and reels. SM
