I was playing with a pick-up band at Mallory Square in Key West at sunset one evening. Tennessee Williams had an apartment/house there at the time. He was still alive then, I believe. Some dude walks up to us during a break and says 'Play something by Tennessee Williams.' I KID YOU NOT! We said 'Sure, just put something in the offering cup first.' This chump of a dude does as instructed. We put our heads together--whisper, whisper. We finally nodded our heads and, right there on the spot, ripped into a song whose sole lyric was 'Stella!' We played in blues style! There's one born every moment. This one just happened our way with $100.00 to blow.
