Have a couple of photos of my ex-pat days in Germany wearing Birks & a pair of thick, hand-knitted socks made by a girlfriend. Was all day on my feet & it sure felt good. When everybody else was grumbling about their feet hurting, I was still in good shape. Sadly, the Birks are no more & have'nt been replaced- and the socks are well beyond the point of wearing anymore- doubt that 'look' will ever be duplicated.
