Looking forward to this years festival.
Hope the publicity machine is a lot better than last year - radio stations, folk shows, local tv entertainment reporters, Sing Out & Dirty Linen festival directory, WNYC Summer Activities directory, Libraries-New York City & Suburbs, NJ, CT, Record Stores, NYC tourist bureau, Folk Clubs up and down the East Coast (Boston, NY, NJ, CT, Md, DC, Va, etc.), Newspapers (last year only NYT, how about all the local give away papers devoted to the arts
up and down the east coast & metropolitan area, Gannett group papers, similar up and down the coast), UMD Eisteddfod mailing list, Folk websites (Ballad list, etc), etc. Many of the directories need info WELL IN ADVANCE.
The trip last year would have been nice to take, but no arrangements were made for out-of-towners. Need early check-in at Poly or hotel, transportation (can't have 50 people driving their cars in NYC with any expectation of parking etc)to embarcation point or subway/bus info, early puclication of trip details, arrangements and costs.
Had a wonderful time last year and expect at least as good a time
this year, but hope the festival will be enjoyed by a larger audience.
