Mountainair ~ What in tar nation are you doing cutting firewood with a 36 inch chainsaw. I've been cutting wood for probably more years than you've been alive and I have always used around a 16 inch saw. You see the advantage is that when you screw up the bar isn't long nuff to cut your leg. Of course other vital parts could be jeopardy. Them 36 inch saws are for logging & not to be used for screwing around with firewood. Cap't Bob
