Either way, he's no idiot, he'll land on his feet financially, and the book publishers are likely already lining up. If he resigns his seat in parliament, or doesn't run in the next election, he'll be reciving a parliamentary pension of $71,000 per year, indexed to the cost of living. I don't think I'll be playing a benefit concert for him any time soon.
