At the risk of being accused of taking things too seriously...I always look for the thread of seriousness in humor; it's usually there & it's frequently hurtful to the one being targeted by the humor. As a woman--yes--I can be amused by Christine's lyrics. On the other hand, I appreciate Thomas' remarks & I sympathize. IMO, women's lib has gone too far. Now, instead of women being supposed to bend over backwards to accomodate men (no smut intended), the reverse seems to be expected. What we need is equality--not sameness--and mutual respect. Given human nature, we may never reach it, but it's a goal for which to strive.
