The version quoted by Jim Ward a few posts above are exactly like the version quoted in Brendan Behan's prison memoir, Borstal Boy.

There was also a song similar to (though not the same as) the one quoted by Cobber. In fact, the book is full of songs like this--things that street kids, working class kids, and just plain thugs sang toward the end of WWII. Very musical book.
