Many, many years ago in school in New York State, my husband heard a peom with the lines, "The golden rod is yellow and the corn is turning brown." I have searched Bartletts quotations, and other books. I hav elooked on the internet. I have read through countless books of poetry but I have never found this. There are so many Mudcatters, I have confidence that someone among us will know this poem and I can finally have an answer and we can go on and discuss really great poems like my favorites. You know, ones like, "It was the schooner Hesperus that sailed the wintry sea..."
