The Swansea Maritime Festival is just over a week away. It survived a threat of cancellation last year. However the decision was overturned and the festival went ahead in glorious weather. This year there are three new venues including Sainsburys who have kindly consented to let us use their cafe for the purpose of fund-raising for the RNLI. The Swansea Museum is the venue for an afternoon concert on both days (Saturday & Sunday 17th - 18th July) It all gets underway on Friday evening at another new venue, The Schooner Bar in the Maritime Quarter. It takes the form of a singaround with guest spots, in a nice relaxed atmosphere. The Queens Hotel has sessions on Saturday & Sunday from 12.00pm to 4.00pm. And the Yacht Club hosts the Saturday evening concert from 7.0pm. The festival main stage will feature continuous music from 11.00am - 5.00pm with festival guests which includes the children's shanty group, The Nipper Jacks. The performers: Stormalong John, Johnny Collins, Dave Webber & Anni Fentiman, Graeme Knights, Baggyrinkle, Shanty Jack, Hughie Jones, Gaye & Trish, Harry Brown's Shantymen and Roy Clinging Everywhere is within easy reach and it's all free!! We'd be delighted to meet you Mudcatters so please come along and introduce yourselves.
