The NLCR were catalysts for other musicians to form stringbands to play and search out old time music and revive it. Now there are numerous fine bands and performers playing the music and keeping it alive and fresh and exciting- and also taking it in new directions as well. Over the years some of my favorites have been: Highwoods Stringband Red Clay Ramblers Fuzzy Mountain Stringband Hollow Rock Stringband The Arm and Hammer Stringband The Double Decker Stringband The Volo Bogtrotters The Chicken Chokers The Horseflies Bruce Molsky & Big Hoedown
