My son is looking for a good car at a convenient price. Here in Buenos Aires, among a hundred possibilities, we have found that many used Rovers (416, 400, 214, etc.) model 1996 to 2000, made in England, are now on sale for much less than the price of brand new small (and weak) Corsas and Gols. No comparison is possible respect to quality and performance, but the price of spare parts for Rovers in Argentina are seriously high.

If you own a Rover, would you keep it even when spare parts are 4 to 8 times their original cost ? If you use it (carefully) every day,would you trust in the quality of the car and not worry very much about spare parts? Or do they require frequent repairs?

I know that if we can wait two weeks, we could get any spare part from any dealer in England at the normal price. He could use my car (mmmhh..) in the meantime. Any comment will be welcome.
