Hey all I dont know if it qualifies as poetry, but I always used to read Dylan Thomas' "A Child's Christmas in Wales" with my mother when I was young. I remember best the part about the boys throwing snowballs at cats on the cold days when they had nothing to do. It;s really beautiful language. Try reading it to your child, or even just for yourself. Rob
