I was a member of the Malcolm Price Trio foir several years after replacing mandolinist Mick North. By an incredible coincidence I had already bought Mick's pre-war Gibson A50 mandolin from Clifford Essex in Earlham Street London. I still play in a band with banjo and fiddle player John Field who played on the Malcolm Price Trio +one album Way Down Town. Although I never recorded with Malcolm, I was involved in numerous BBC broadcasts with him from the late sixties to the early eighties. He was born, I think, in Sidcup and he now lives in Norway. Roger Churchyard, who also played in the trio, and with whom I played in the bluegrass band Orange Blossom Sound, is still in regular contact with.
