Bo Vandenberg BS: Michael Moore laughs to the bank (31) RE: BS: Michael Moore laughs to the bank 03 Nov 04

Sadly, I don't think Moore cares for any 'extra' as much as he would have liked a change of regime. The climate of right wing security phobia and insensitivity in the United States must make it very difficult for artists.

Unlike the hundreds of companies who profitted hugely from election advertising, and political support services, I really think Moore would have kissed away his own profit from Farenheit 9/11 if people would have simply changed and things would have gotten better.

The most depressing thing about the criticisms of his films is that the targets don't seem to prove him wrong by actions. Haliburton hasn't openned its books to show it doesn't make unfair profits. The government hasn't allowed more information out to prove it isn't censoring.

The American response seems to be deny and litigate - always looking for a technical flaw or rhetorical mistake in the attack. I'd love to think that George W Bush would take the criticism he has received to heart and demonstrate improvements but I'm not holding my breath.

I think wherever you're outlook you don't expect much change either.

Thats Sad.
