Breezy - Barbara wrote a tune for this (not the one posted above) as part of getting tunes for all the songs in Williams' Folk Songs of the Upper Thames (which had none) - she gathered up traditional tunes from other versions where she could and wrote some when she couldn't find any. In fact there are traditional tunes for the song. The Coppers have a version and there's a version in Helen Creighton's Maritime Folk Songs. (I'll see if I can post these tunes when I've a bit more time). According to Roud there's also a recording by Walter Pardon, presumably to a traditional tune.
