When I was a kid, I was crazy about R. W. Service. "The Face" was one of the poems in the little collection I kept out of the school library long enough to rack up a sizeable fine. I will raise my right hand and swear to the association of the title with Service's name, but 40-odd years have blurred my recollection of the poem itself. The above seems to have the right flavor, though. Mark
