I have to admit I'm relieved. When I first saw this thread, I was afraid it would say Mary had passed away. She has always been one of my favorites. As I may have posted elsewhere, my 4th grade music teacher lost her job after teaching us the PP&M covers of what are now classics written by Dylan, Woody, Ochs, Seeger, et.al. The images conveyed were, I guess, way too radical for the lily white Chicago suburbs of the 60's (and the 3 part harmony was way radical for a bunch of 10 year olds as well, but man, I loved it at first sight). Beauty isn't always in the 'eye' of the beholder. I thought Mary Travers' true beauty came straight from her soul, and it is still to this day delectably apparent to my 'ears' whenever I hear her sing. There are few performers that I enjoy and admire more than Mary. Here's hoping we will be blessed with her on-stage presence for years to come. And Brucie, like many Mudcatters, I envy you your memories. Thanks for sharing them with us.
