Doug, thank you for your perspective. When I have my kids sing in a foreign language, I work very hard at getting the correct pronounciations and nuances. It is important to do the same thing when I am using ASL. You gave me an important reminder that what we are doing is far more than "pretty arm movements." I have a question for you, if I may, because I have been given conflicting information. I am left-handed, and I sign left-handed, using the right hand for the "base" of two-handed signs, such as the sign for "music." Is this incorrect? Should I make an effort to use my right hand?
