Flame wars aside, and returning to the topic at hand.... I suspect countries other than the U.S. may want to argue with this thread title, but I agree. I have not renewed our cable subscription in over 2 years. My two sons complained at first, but they soon got used to no TV (we live in an area of poor reception). We rent movies or borrow them from the library, or read, or play games, or argue, or other things. For news, we use the Internet and the occasional newspaper (sometimes over the Web). But so much wasted time staring slackjawed at the tube is a thing of the past. doug
