When these Beverley Hillbillies shows were first shown on Granada TV in the North West of England in the early 60s, the opening theme was intact, but the end was very crudely cut off with a simple caption reading THE END. Granada used to employ this abrupt and unprofessional method of ending most imported shows. We never heard the closing theme (or even suspected its existence) until the shows were repeated years later.
I imagine the show sounds/looks very odd without that distinctive theme and incidental music.
