GUEST,Billy Boy in France Chord Req: Erin go Bragh (Peadar Kearney) (1) Chord Req: Erin go Bragh (Peadar Kearney) 05 Jan 05

Seeing as I've had such a quick response so far!

I try my luck again.

I'm looking for the chords to this, was covered quite nicely by the wolfe tones, and on another site I found the inserted chords, but it doesn't work extremely well, but comes close.

You could probably get away with using the
G C
G D7 G
G C
G D7 G
of the Wild Rover better..

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I'll [Am] sing you a song of a [G] row in the [Am] town,
When the [C] green flag went [Am] up and the [G] Crown rag came [Am] down,
'T'was the [C] neatest and [G] sweetest thing [Am] ever you [C] saw,
When they [Am] played that great [G] game they called [C] Erin Go [Am] Bragh.

God bless gallant Pearse and his comrades who died
Tom Clark, MacDonagh, MacDiarmaid, McBride,
And here's to James Connolly who gave one hurrah,
And faced the machine guns for Erin Go Bragh.

Now one of our leaders was down in Ringsend,
For the honor of Ireland to uphold and defend,
He had no veteran soldiers but volunteers raw,
Playing sweet Mauser music for Erin Go Bragh.

Old Ceannt and his comrades like lions at bay,
From the South Dublin Union poured death and dismay,
But what was their often the invader men saw
all their dead khaki soldiers in Erin Go Bragh.

A great foreign captain was raving that day,
Saying, "Give me one hour and I'll blow you away"
But a big Mauser bullet got stuck in his jaw,
And he died of lead poison on Erin Go Bragh.

A glory to Dublin, to her due renown,
In the long generations her fame will go down,
And our children will tell how their forefathers saw,
The red blaze of freedom o'er Erin Go Bragh.
