Some advice I would offer to any potential vasectomee(?) is to go for the general anaesthetic, never a local. I found out the hard way that it is indeed possible to touch your heel with the toe of the same foot under certain circumstances. I think I was supposed to walk out of the hospital immediately afterwards - and one wheelchair ride and a two hour lie-down later I did ! - And keep small children and dogs at a distance for a day or two..!
