No, I live in Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina, some 2,000 miles south of Rio de Janeiro. Unfortunately I have never been in Rio, but in some other Brazil cities like Sao Paulo and Foz do IguazĂș. Rio is one of the largest and most sophisticated cities of the world, but you will see a violent contrast between the rich and the poor. There is a whole world of cultural activities in Rio, and surely you will find everything from the roots of Brazilian music to the most famous Opera singers. Lots of alcohol and dancing, and excellent food too. And the incredible beaches full of "garotas" (girls). This month you may see, and be a part of, the most famous Carnival feast in the world. And all the sun and the joy and the low,low prices. The only thing you should care of, is the temptation of staying there and never coming back home ! Un abrazo, AndrĂ©s
