Micca, I remember John James from a couple of Kicking Mule recordings, which I still listen to and he was (is?) great. He was pictured with Fylde guitars and his tone was really beautiful and unique. You know watching a guy like Grossman or Kottke can be intimidating but fingerstyle doesn't have to be complex to be good. I started out by learning John Fahey's stuff which is relatively straight forward but is still, to this day, very powerful and moving music. F
