Just saw "In the heat of the night" for the umpteenth time and now I know where that song came from. It was really nice to hear Ray sing the theme song. I also miss him and Rod Steiger, who with Sidney Poitier made this a true American folk classic. Maybe this thread will be around into the next millennium. We'll be all dead but "Foul Owl" will still be around. Maybe it'll make a comeback then with Anthony James (the counter man) dancing around for the MTV video. He will of course be computer generated. Hang in there thread, only 95 more years to keep this 'thing' alive and well!
