Layah BS: Why do women wear high heels with denims (56* d) RE: BS: Why do women wear high heels with denims 12 Mar 05

Is this a discussion of why wear high heals with jeans or why wear them at all? It is a style to wear them with jeans. Why wear them at all is a more difficult question. Feeling pretty is important to people, and I balance what is annoying or harmful with how pretty it makes me feel (or if it makes me feel prettier at all) so that I do just as much as I feel like doing. Which for me is not much at all, I don't wear high heels, I don't wear makeup, I do spend time playing with my hair both because I like what I come out with and I like playing with my hair. I very rarely wear clothing that constricts my activities, like high heels or tight skirts or mini skirts. I also don't wear clothing that doesn't make me feel pretty. The amount prettier I feel has to outweight the negatives of it. I guess some people (most people) just draw their line somewhere else.

I think when you start talking about working things might be different. I don't really have any personal experience, but I bet for women working in office type situations they have to conform to some standard in order to get a job, remain employed, and advance. It might just be subconscious, but I'm betting a prettier woman does better than one who spends less effort on her appearance.
