I suspect that Bobby Bob has been too busy rehearsing for his part in the Manx Museum's 'Celtic Christmas' concert next Friday to reply to this thread, but until he does here goes: It depends whether you are looking for songs in English or Manx. If English then there are two 'Manx National Song Book' (Volumes 1 & 2 unsurprisingly) available. The first is a reprint of one published in Victorian times and contains 'newly written' words by such notable - and non Manx - personalities as A.P. Graves and James Hogg. But the tunes are fairly true to the tradition. The Volume 2 takes the Manx tradition through music-hall songs such as 'Kelly From the Isle of Man' to Hughie Jones's 'Wreck of the Ellan Vannin'. There are several inexpensive tune books - 'Kiaull yn Theay' Volumes 1&2 by Colin Jerry contain many tunes from the Manx tradition. For songs in Manx - although few tunes - there's 'Manx Ballads and Music' by A.W.Moore, originally published over a century ago, but recently republished by Llanerch Publishers, Felinfach, Wales in 1998. All of the above are available from the Manx Museum Shop, Douglas, Isle of Man. Trust this helps.
