Much as would love the Playhouse to be a dedicated Arts Centre it was in a pitiful state and a health and safety liabilty -it would cost a fortune to preserve it and I am not sure its justifiable-I think it would be nice to extend the market on Saturday to an inside facility with a permanent farmers market, small cafe area and fair trade outlets offering fair rent for local traders and local produce-no chain retail outlets allowed.. Sorry I many sure folkies don't want to hear this but it seems more practical than an arts centre when there are already the memorial hall, leisure centre, pocklington arts centre and toll gavel church as venues. Yes it would be great for the festival but I do not think it is justfiable for one weekend a year/
