I'm concerned that Cranky Young Woman's angry and patronizing rhetoric reflects her own agist biases, her statement of principles hides an agenda that at least many young women hold to, an agenda that really is dark. Older men already know that they are subject to exclusion and discrimination. I see Cranky Young Woman trivialising the feelings of older men. I find that to be more than a little disingenuous. I'm going to keep working towards dialogue, but it's beginning to look to me as if dialogue through the institutional structure of this thread would be a waste of time because the common ground I thought we shared on welcoming all people to Mudcat --whether they're "looking for 'music'" or not--doesn't seem to be there.
