Here's an interesting quote from an article about Sidmouth in the current June 2005 issue of 'DevonLife' - The Devon County magazine... '...If Sidmouth first made its national mark as the Duke of Kent's nemesis,it is presently gaining worldwide recognition as the home of the International Folk Festival, now in its 51st year. The dates for 2005 are Saturday 30th July to Friday 5th August. Folk singers, musicians and dancers come from all over the world to perform, either in the halls, marquees or street. The financial benefit to the town is immense, and it is usually packed out during this week.....'
