Ralphie The Halliard New CD (6) The Halliard New CD 22 Jun 05

Just a note to say that Mollie Music is about to release a Book/CD called "Broadside Songs" by the Halliard.
More about the book in a mo.

The CD consists of 7 songs originally released in 1968, and 10 (Yes 10!) songs recorded by the original members this year.
(For those that don't know, the original group consisted of Dave Moran, now living in Tasmania, Nigel Paterson, of good old London town, and some bloke called Nic Jones....who?!)

The new tracks were recorded and stitched together without any of them meeting...Gawd Bless Broadband!

As for the book, It contains 31 Broadsides that the original band hunted down, and in most cases wrote the tunes, copious notes on why and how, and some incredibly embarrasing photos...Arran sweaters and all!

So, for anyone who always thought that that Bedlam Boys, Thousand Miles away, and Calico Printers Clerk were wholly trad, can now learn the sordid truth!

Still waiting for the CDs to come back from the printers, but John The Fish records in the UK have pre-empted me. Visit their site and you can sample some of the tracks. (Can someone do the clicky bit please!) Also you can always contact Julia Jones at Mollie Music.

Haven't got a price yet,(probably about £25 UK) but there are a limited number of copies signed by the band. So I thought that I'd let you guys know first.

I've notified Dick at CAMSCO, so he's ready !!

Regards Ralph Jordan.
