I tried my first one in the Washington Post Express yesterday - got the middle square filled and then choked - this could be the start of a dangerous addiction... I subscribe to the New York Times crossword on-line, and feel pleased when I can finish the Sunday one over a single lunch hour, rather than taking two-three lunch hours. Obviously, I'm not in the same class as you British puzzlers - I can't even comprehend the English crosswords, let alone finish them...
