Well - I think if ya haven't bothered to give this CD a listen in its enturety, you should shut yer trap. Why? Because it's not simply a rehash of TOM JOAD and it is not the hoped for sequel to NEBRASKA, it's something better. And, to the person who said Bruce shows no growth - clearly you haven't listened to anything he's done since the 80s. I'm not a rabid fan who shouts 'BROOOOOOS" at concerts and I don't even try to go to his live shows anymore. I think my opinion is somewhat more realistic than those of my husband's Jersey friends who would worship anything he put out. I was slow to like this CD. Now I love it. After a few listens, it really grew on me, even the songs I didn't intially like. There are some songs here that address how it feels to have somehow managed to survive the majorly screwed up family you grew up in to find yourself miraculously and unexpectedly in a stable marriage (and to be grateful for it).. there's also social commentary that everyone wants. Just listen to the damn thing before you bury it as 'unworthy' of "BROOS"
